Adamawa Guber: PDP Leadership Lauds Successful Primary

… Savours Niger Senatorial Bye-Election Victory
BEVERLY HILLS, September 08, (THEWILL) - The leadership of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated Adamawa State Acting Governor, Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri, for his emergence as the party's candidate for the October 11, 2014 governorship bye-election in the state.

The leadership also commended the other aspirants for their 'rare show of the spirit of sportsmanship and unwavering commitment to the party throughout the nomination process, in keeping with the ideals of the PDP and the visions of the founding fathers.'

PDP National Publicity Secretary Olisa Metuh said in a statement on Monday that the party leadership is 'satisfied with the level of camaraderie and sense of purpose that characterised the primary election' and praised the delegates and all major stakeholders in the state for the orderly manner with which they conducted themselves during the exercise.

The party attributed the success of the exercise to the 'spirit of oneness within the fold in Adamawa State, effectively harnessed through the insistence by the national leadership on strict adherence to the tenets of internal democracy which provided accommodation for all in line with the ideology of the PDP and principles of fairness, justice and equity.'

The leadership therefore charged all its members in Adamawa to close ranks as one family and support the candidate to ensure the success of the party in the governorship election.

In the same vein, the leadership of the party also congratulated its candidate, Dr. Shem Zagbayi Nuhu, for emerging victorious in the Niger East Senatorial bye-election.

It described the outcome of the election as a confirmation of the popularity of the PDP among the people at the grassroot. Stating that Niger state remains 'a stronghold of the PDP', the leadership urged the members to continue to work hard to ensure that the party remained pre-eminent ahead of the 2015 general elections.
