President Goodluck Jonathan has terminated the appointment of his Special

Adviser(Political), Alhaji Ahmed A. Gulak with immediate effect.

President Jonathan thanks Alhaji Gulak for his services to the present

administration and wishes him success in his future endeavors.

This information was contained in a series of tweets by the President's

spokesman, Reuben Abati (@abati1990)
It would be recalled that Gulak had irked some PDP chieftains in Akwa Ibom

when he made a comment during his recent visit that the party would not

tolerate imposition of candidate, apparently referring to Governor

Godswill Akpabio's resolve to zone the Governorship of the State to Eket

Senatorial zone.
A statement from Akwa Ibom PDP had said:
“Ahmad Gulak should remember that he is merely a Presidential aide who has

no business dictating what happens in PDP States as much and far as

Elections 2015 is concerned”.“He should not abuse his office by making

careless and caustic statements capable of dragging the Presidency and the

National Chairman of PDP into disrepute”.
“If Gulak wants to campaign for choice aspirants in Akwa Ibom and other

PDP States, I suggest that he resigns from office in order to fully

provide consultancy services to his gubernatorial clients”.

Gulak had stated that there will be No Imposition of Candidates by the PDP

in 2015 as it is against the tenets of democracy which guarantees freedom

of choice by the people and against the stand of Mr President as the

leader of the party and that of the National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji

Adamu Mua'zu. He advised prospecting aspirants for 2015 elections under

the umbrella of the PDP to go back and consult the party leaders at the

grassroots as PDP candidates for the 2015 would be selected, he also

commended Mr.Umana Okon Umana for his support to President Goodluck

Jonathan administration and Goodluck Jonathan Support Group in Akwa Ibom

State.
Ahmed Gulak whose Goodluck Support Group, GSG has been embroiled in series

of scandals across its chapters in London and the United States with

questionable characters as coordinators and heads was in strong terms

advised to mind his business.
