Udenwa, Anyanwu, Buhari's lawyer to defect to PDP
The Peoples Democratic Party is set to gain from the losses of the opposition political parties as President Goodluck Jonathan prepares to receive defectors from the the All Progressives Congress and the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Imo State.
Those defecting to the ruling party are a former governor of the state, Chief Achike Udenwa; Senator Chris Anyanwu and General Muhammadu Buhari's lawyer, Chief Mike Ahamba(SAN). Jonathan is to lead the leadership of the PDP to receive the defectors in Owerri, the state capital on Friday, next week.The Chairman of the Imo State Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme , who is also the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee for the rally where the defectors would be received, Chief Longers Anyanwu, disclosed this to journalists in Abuja on Thursday.
Apart from these notable people from the state, he said there were about 10,000 other indigenes of the state who he said were going to leave the opposition party to join the PDP.He also said the rally and the visit of the President would provide an opportunity for him to showcase the achievements of SURE-P in the state
