APC Registration Drive An Opportunity To Unite Against Oppression, Says Senator Abe

BEVERLY HILLS, February 05, (THEWILL) - The Senator representing Rivers South-East in the National Assembly, Magnus Abe has described the on-going membership registration exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as an opportunity for Rivers people to solidify the battle against oppression, intimidation and police brutality.

To this end, he has charged the people of Rivers South-East and indeed the entire state to come out en masse to register and be counted among progressives in the task of moving Nigeria forward.

In a statement issued in Port Harcourt, Senator Abe said, 'This is a golden opportunity for us, to arm ourselves with the APC card which will enable us effectively defend, protect and secure our resources from internal and external aggression.

' The Senate Committee Chairman on Petroleum (Downstream) noted that events of recent past has shown clearly that APC was ready to reward hard work and dedication unlike the PDP.

He reminded Rivers people of the need to reclaim the state from the insecurity being promoted by the PDP through the misuse of the Nigeria Police, emphasizing that those who love democracy, security, law and order should come out to register.

Senator Abe explained that with APC, Rivers people would witness sustained infrastructural development, and truth as well as tackle what he called poor sense of arithmetic that has seen 16 being greater than 19 and 5 greater than 26 in a country of seemingly learned people.

'It is clear that APC is a party that stands for truth and the preservation of our democracy, putting our people in the right direction, commitment to goals that are of interest to Rivers State are some of the tenets that the party is dedicated to sustaining,' he declared.
