Chief Bisi Akande, the interim National Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday in Sokoto inaugurated a nine-man interim executive committee of the state chapter of the party.

Akande was represented at the event by Alhaji Salisu Fagge, the Zonal Vice Chairman of the party in the North-West.

In his address at the occasion, Akande described Gov. Aliyu Wamakko as “father to all APC members in the state.''

“Wammako has transformed the state in all aspects, '' he added.

Akande urged members of the caretaker committee to justify the confidence reposed on them by the interim national leadership of the party.

He also urged them to be diligent, God fearing and carry along all members of the party in the state.

“You should be upright and work towards the growth and development of the party in the state and Nigeria, ''he said.

In his remark, Gov. Aliyu Wamakko said he would fight to ensure social justice in Nigeria, where every Nigerian could aspire to any height.

He called on Nigerians to ensure the entrenchment of democracy in the country and the sustenance of peace, unity and national cohesion.

The governor said the APC in Sokoto state was intact and united.

“We in the APC believe in equality and equal participation,” he said, adding that the party seeks to promote good governance, transparency and rule of law in Nigeria.

“I am therefore calling on all Nigerians to come on board to join the crusade to emancipate Nigeria,” he said.

Alhaji Usman Danmadami, the Deputy National Treasurer of the party, said the national leadership of the party would not join issues with any person or group of persons claiming the ownership of the party in the state.

In his remark, Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir, the Chairman of the nine-man interim executive committee, promised that he and other members of the committee would “live above board.''

Abdulkadir was the former Minister of Youths and Social Development.
