IMO WOMEN PROTEST AT INEC FOR NONE RELEASE OF OGUTA ELECTION

It was operation occupy INEC as Women numbering over two thousand said to have come from Oguta Local Government Area besieged Imo INEC office along Port-Harcourt Road, asking INEC to follow the path of justice by releasing Oguta result.

Despite their peaceful posture during the protest, not even gun shuts could stop the irate youth and women of Oguta as they fearlessly filed into the the compound of INEC office singing songs saying it was an injustice from the Presidency.

Speaking at the INEC office, Mrs. Esther Obialor, she wondered why Mr. President who promised free and fair election should be silent over none release of Oguta election that has been won and lost.

It will be recalled that elections have been conducted three times in Oguta and have three times been trouble ridden, thereby, stalling the local government's right of representation in the House of Assembly. The last of the controversy was generated from June 29, 2013 re-run constituency election, which was again declared inconclusive over an alleged call from the above. Meanwhile

The women further requested that the injustice to Oguta people can longer be tolerated saying they have suffered enough from injustice of PDP and Federal government.

They women called on INEC to release the result without further delay through their spokes person, Mrs. Obialor saying they can no longer wait for any rerun since it never came when expected saying the result already showed the clear winner.

As the time of filing this reportthere was no senior INEC official to respond or comment on the matter.
