Wenger lose temper just before Fernabache duel

Arsene Wenger must probably be the most criticised man in the last few days. He has had to take a lot of flak from supporters, media, and opposition managers. It seems to have got the better out of the Frenchman, who is normally cool and composed. Pardew criticised Arsenal‘s £10 million bid for Yohan Cabaye, who is one of the important players at the club. When asked his reaction for this criticism, Wenger lashed out in the media saying that he need not explain anything to anyone.

He keeps reiterating that most of the business is done in the last 10 days of the transfer window, but fans will certainly look just at their neighbours to see that it is not the case. Tottenham are close to taking their summer spending to £100 million whereas Arsenal continue to be linked with almost every name with no progress being made afterwards. He says that journalists are at fault for expressing their opinions and that he need not explain Arsenal’s transfer policy.

“It is quite amazing that all of the people don’t know and yet they always have opinions about things they don’t know.

“First of all, you don’t know what we have done, you don’t know if we did bid and you have come to a conclusion without knowing everything that has happened.

“I won’t explain to you what happened. It is not down to me to explain to you everything I do. It is impossible.

“There is nothing to explain,” said Wenger to Sky Sports.

This appears to be a great mind game from the manager to deflect the attention off his ailing team. They will take on Fenerbahce in the Champions League qualifier match that could determine the future of the club in several ways. Arsenal are already losing their pulling power when it comes to attracting top players, and it would be reduced even more if they fail to make it into the Champions League group stages this season.

Further, Tottenham’s signings have made them so strong that they are now the favourites for the top four this season.
