Rivers Assembly majority leader shows up at police headquarters

The Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Chidi Lloyd has turned himself in to the police.

The lawmaker was  invited by the police over the free-for-all by some members of the Rivers  assembly a week ago.

Lloyd  showed up at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, exactly seven  days after the indicent.

Lloyd was invited by the police alongside Aide-De-Camp to  Governor Rotimi Amaechi,   Debeware  Semeikumo, and  the  Chief Security Officer, Tony Iwelu, on July 16, 2 013.

Lloyd   was also captured on video attacking  another lawmaker, Michael Chinda, with a  mace.

He had hitherto  claimed  that he was hospitalized after the fracas in the assembly and was himself receiving treatment for an injury at an undisclosed hospital.

Lloyd arrived at the Force Headquarters at   6.00 pm and   was immediately directed to the Force Criminal Investigation Department, where he was asked to write his statement.
