Singapore MFA Press Statement: Visit by Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli to South Africa and Nigeria, 9 to 17 May 2013

SINGAPORE, Singapore, May 8, 2013/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- Senior Minister of State (SMS) for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli will visit South Africa from 9 to 12 May 2013 and Nigeria from 12 to 17 May 2013 where he will meet with senior government officials, prominent politicians and businessmen as well as Singaporeans based in both countries. This is his first official visit to Africa. SMS Masagos will exchange views with his African counterparts on political and economic developments in Africa and discuss ways to strengthen Singapore's relations with South Africa and Nigeria.

SMS Masagos will be accompanied by Singapore's High Commissioner to South Africa Bernard Baker, Singapore's Non-Resident High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria Shabbir Hassanbhai as well as officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Trade and Industry.
