The Abia Chapter of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN is currently rocking in a six million Naira fraud and of the presidential aspirant of the association, Emeka Rollas, has been allegedly indicted for his involvement in fraud.

Further investigation revealed that the fund was said to have been donated to the guild's treasury by the State governor to support the guild after visitation by Emeka Rollas, who was the AGN National secretary in the last dispensation and some members of the executives.

Inside sources at the state chapter of the actors' guild, disclosed that the executive members of the guild have been investigating on the alleged fraud for a while and recently found the actor and some members of the executives guilty of allegedly misappropriating the fund given to the guild by the state government. Already the Abia State chapter of AGN has split over the allegation and members are in discord over the allegations.

Thus, some members of the guild in Abia state has dragged Emeka Rollas and those alleged to be involved in the misappropriation of the fund to a law court with hearings expected to resume on Monday, May 22, 2013.

When the current National Secretary of AGN, Abubakar Yakub, who was the PRO in the last dispensation, he confirmed the allegation but maintained it was misappropriation of funds and not fraud.

“I'm aware of the situation but it's not a fraud, it's actually misappropriation of funds. A certain sum of amount was actually given the Abia state chapter by the state government during the last regime, where I served as the PRO of the guild but some members of the guild in Abia aren't happy with the way the fund was executed,” Abubakar said.
