Ahead of Peoples Democratic Party's national election later in the month, Vice President Namadi Sambo and governors of the North-west zone met behind closed doors at his official residence at the Presidential Villa, Akinola Aguda House, Abuja, to decide who gets what.

Though State House correspondents were not allowed near the venue of the meeting but a reliable source confirmed the agenda was to decide who would get what following the party's decision that some positions were to be done by consensus to avoid rancour.

The governors that had already arrived the Aguda residence of the vice president were Jigawa, Katsina and Kaduna states.

The PDP national convention where the national officers are expected to emerge is billed for March 24.

The positions available to the zone are the national organising secretary and the national treasurer. Another position available in the zone is the national vice chairman, North-west. Apart from the deliberation of the PDP positions, it was further learnt that the meeting revisited the spate of insecurity in some parts of the North occasioned by the persistent attacks being carried out by the Islamist sect, Boko Haram.

It was learnt that the meeting resolved that the governors should be up and doing in complementing Federal Government's efforts aimed at ending the trend.

Another issue touched at the meeting, it was revealed, was the recent agitation by the North for a review of the nation's revenue sharing formula.

Participants were said to have reiterated their commitment to the unity of the country.
