REPS PLAN MORE REFORMS IN JUSTICE SYSTEM

CHAIRMAN of the House of Representatives on Judiciary Matters, Dr. Ahmad Ali, has hinted of plans by the Legislature to fast-track the criminal justice administration in the country.

Ali told The Guardian on Tuesday in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, that the recent review of the Evidence Act had become a catalyst for accelerating the dispensation of criminal cases in Nigeria. He, however, alleged that the Nigeria Police were yet to embrace the changes.

The lawmaker, therefore, urged the relevant prosecution agencies in the system to begin the prompt enforcement of the reviewed laws while the orientation agencies should enlighten Nigerians on the development.
