Just like Olisa Adibua, a Nigerian Radio/TV Presenter, who is today celebrated and married to his job, so we have Hon. Alan B. Onyemaechi who is also a radio disc jockey but mistakenly got into it as a hobby. In a jiffy, he disclosed little on his involvement with a programme on air that was born out of his personal interest and love for music.

Today, Classic Sounds as popularly known by its listeners has been described by the initiator as a programme packaged to revive the artistes and music of yesteryears. “Well, classic sounds is a programme designed to revive musical memories of the old. It deals with great hits of yesteryears; hits that made impact in the 70-80s. And also, it is an exploration hits by great artistes of the old,” he informed.

The programme today is indeed making wave on air with a large audience who are now in requesting for more. Without a doubt, it brings back the spirit of the old with its romantic tickles as the crazy and funky Chigozie Anumudu aka Manosky is always on the steel of the wheels. Managing the audience, the vibrant Alan stressed that the audience are those above the age of fifty. “The audiences are those between the age bracket of 50 and 60 years old. The part of enjoyment in the programme is that you would be opportune to listen to the music you grew up with. And that is why whenever the audiences listens or come around the tone of it; it recalls them back to those days. In fact, the programme carries a lot of followers or audiences who listens to it, and not only that, the listeners also calls for more,” Hon. Alan said.

What one could be wondering is the inspiration behind the programme, he hinted that the inspiration has just been his personal interest and love for music. Tirelessly, it has become difficult for him to quit, as it covers a huge number of audiences who are today asking for more.”The inspiration like I said earlier is purely interest. I like good music, and I happen to be a disc jockey who also promoted good artistes by playing their records in those days. Earlier, I just thought it would be good to introduce a programme where I can play their songs since I enjoyed it as a hubby. So the inspiration is purely on a personal interest that I was a radio disc jockey.

The high rated programme that is aired every Sunday afternoon by 3pm has become delight of its listeners, but the challenge of airing seems to make it tough for the listeners. It was further revealed by him that Heartland F.M with the frequency 100.5 which is the station where the programme is aired has removed fifteen minutes out of the hour, but doesn't seem to be enough for the listeners. He stressed that the time sustenance matters on the number of sponsors as the programme now happens to be the choice of all. “The challenges are actually having a medium like Heartland F.M that gave me an hour and wanted to get sponsors, and when we weren't getting them, they had to cut off fifteen minutes. And assume we had them, I'm sure the station would have devoted enough airtime for it. And now, we have fourty five minutes and people are clamouring for more. Then, Heartland F.M is saying if they want more let them sponsor it; I think is also for them to make money through it.
