COURT RESTRAINS PUBLICATION OF IGBINEDION'S DAUGHTER'S MARRIAGE CRISIS

BENIN - A Benin High Court has granted an interim injunction restraining the Lagoon Press Limited, son- in-law to the Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion and two others, from further publication of the crisis which engulfed the marriage of Omosede, daughter of Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, and Prince Avan Akenzua, nephew to the Oba of Benin.

In Suit No B/156/M1/2011 between Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, Lady Cherry Igbinedion and Mrs Omosede Igbinedion- Akenzua (plaintiffs/applicants) and Prince Avan Akenzua II, Lagoon Press Limited and three others as defendants, the plaintiff/applicants, prayed the court to grant an interim injunction for the stoppage of any publication as regard the crisis in the marriage.

It would be recalled that the Lagoon Press had on several occasion published matters relating to the royal marriage which took place two years ago.
