No automatic ticket for anyone to USA, Siasia tells Eagles

Samson Siasia on Tuesday evening put players of the Super Eagles through their paces as he held court in the team's first training session ahead of the United States President's Celebration Soccer invitational tournament in the USA.

Nine more players, led by the Heartland's Ike Thankgod and the Sharks' duo of Stanley Okoronkwo and Thankgod Amaefule stormed the team's camp in Abuja on Monday afternoon leaving the coach impressed.

'I am impressed with the turn out. It shows the players are actually serious with the competition. Hopefully, we will acheive good things in the USA,' Siasia said.

The former Nantes of France striker is, however, calling on the players not to allow themselves to be lulled into a false sense of security as their invitation did not automatically translate to a spot on the plane to the USA.

'They still need to work hard because there is no automatic shirt for any one. I will give every body equal opportunities. Anyone who deserves a place in the team will be given a chance,' he said.
