ABUJA, Dec 26, (THEWILL) - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today frowned at deliberate actions of some Party officials in some states to disenfranchise members and create unnecessary road blocks for some aspirants in the forthcoming ward congresses of party.

The party through its National Publicity Secretary, Professor Rufai Ahmed Alkali said it has specifically received reports of some delegate aspirants being denied nomination forms by unscrupulous Party officials.

“We wish to make it abundantly clear that no party official has the right to deny any PDP member nomination forms. For the avoidance of doubt, all delegate forms, including those obtained at the National Secretariat remain valid for the ward congresses and do not need to be endorsed by any officer of the party at any level to be authentic,” the party said in its Sunday statement.

It warned that any attempt to deny any PDP member the rights and privileges outlined in the Party Constitution and guidelines shall be met with appropriate disciplinary actions.

The party consequently restates its commitment to free, fair and credible congresses and will not allow a few bad eggs erode the gains it has made so far.
