SAN FRANCISCO, Dec 11, (THEWILL) – Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde has been reassigned to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as its Director of Operations (DOP).

Recall Lamorde was pioneer Director of Operations of the anti-graft agency and Acting Chairman of the commission before he was removed during the regime of President Umaru Yar’Adua in what looked like a clamp down on officials of the agency loyal to the then embattled Chairman, Mr. Nuhu RIbadu.

"A new Director of Operations has been appointed for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission . He is Ibrahim Lamorde. He replaces Mr. Steven Otitoju who has been redeployed to the police,” EFCC spokesman, Mr. Femi Babafemi said in a statement.

"Other seconded officers who were redeployed to the police include Umar Sanda, Babakura Mohammed and Abdukadir Jimoh. While the redeployed officers have gone to report in their new postings, Mr. Lamorde is expected to take over from Mr. Otitoju on Monday December 13, 2010.

"EFCC chairman, Mrs. Farida Waziri thanked the redeployed officers for their commitment and dedication to work during their years of service in the commission. She wished them more fruitful years of service to the nation.”
