In this digital age, the internet has become essential part of our daily life. We are in the technology age where almost everyone has a smartphone that is connected to the internet. The development of mobile technology has played a very important role in almost every aspect of our life.

Across the globe, mobile devices dominate almost every minute spent on the internet and social media.

With our mobile phones, we have great opportunities to increase our knowledge, develop our skills and strengthen our relationships with friends and loved ones.

However, we must be informed that there are some dangers attributed to how we use our mobile phone.

Using mobile phone in the dark is very dangerous to human health, particularly our eyes but many users are not aware about it.

As mobile phone users, our ignorance about the dangerous effects of using our phone in the dark can put us at risks of being vulnerable to eye diseases and these risks are multiplied every time we use our phone in the dark. Many mobile phone users have become temporarily blind due to excessive use of their phone in the dark while others have developed glaucoma and other eye diseases.

A study by researchers from the University of Toledo revealed that blue light from smartphones and laptops can accelerate blindness. World Health Organisation (WHO) also affirmed that electronic devices in general are bad for the body because they produce toxic effects that can increase the chances of developing some diseases. Research by ophthalmologists also revealed that continuous use of mobile phones before bed time in the dark can cause extensive strain to human eyes.

This is why we must be very careful about how we use our phone so that the advantage does not eventually become the disadvantage.

activities before you go to bed.
3. Take your phone away from you before you go to bed in the night.

4. Reduce the number of your social media accounts in order to reduce the number of messages to be replied.

5. Switch off your phone at a particular time before you go to bed.
