Adamawa State Government To Give Education System A Priority

Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla has said government will do anything to give Education system priority in the state in other to attend a viable stage of development.

The governor, who stated this when the governing council of College of Education Hong paid him a courtesy visit in his office, said government is willing to assist and encourage educational institutions in the state to enable it discharge its function diligently.

He explained that he has confidence in the present leadership of the council chaired by Hajiya Salamatu Bala Mohammed adding that he will soon pay a visit to the college to see things for himself.

The governor noted that the college is important and assured that his administration will render all the necessary support to the college.

Chairperson of the governing council of the college, Hajiya Salamatu Bala Mohammed said the council was inaugurated in March twenty sixteen and had embarked on renovation of hostel blocks, lecture theaters and procured vehicles for the college.

She told the governor that previous decay in the college where students live in thatched huts is no longer obtainable as hostel accommodation have been provided.

The Chairperson however solicited the assistance of the state government in increasing the running cost of the college, extend road construction to the college and complete some of the buildings which has remained uncompleted since two thousand and one.

Hajiya Salamatu said the college is also collaborating with Ahmadu Bello University Zaria for the commencement of degree program which require recruitment of additional staff and development of infrastructure to enable the college meet up with the mandate.

She commended the governor for massive road projects in the state and said the college has commenced teacher enlightenment to compliment government effort aimed at ensuring an enlightened society where everyone is a stakeholder in the overall development.
