'WE'LL DECONGEST ABUJA'

FCT Minister, Alhaji Bala Mohammed, dropped this hint on Thursday while receiving the Minister of Land, Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Nduese Essien, in his office.

Mohammed remarked that the decongestion of the Abuja metropolis would allow facilities provided to work optimally without being overstretched.

He emphasised that in order to achieve the desired result in this regard, the FCT Administration would open up the Area Councils to enable them play their statutory roles as enshrined in the Abuja Master Plan.

According to him, 'One of my administration's policy thrust is to open-up the area councils and the satellite towns in the capital city to allow more people move in there.'

Speaking earlier, Essien, called for closer partnership with the FCT Administration on housing development.
