It was a stormy session Tuesday, at the Imo State House of Assembly complex as visibly angry State lawmakers stormed out of plenary over unpaid January wages.

Our reporter gathered that the sitting which was slated for 10: am had to be delayed to enable the house form a quorum.

Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo who presided over the plenary had led the opening prayers followed by announcements before calling on the Majority leader of the House to relay the message from the Governor, if any, as was the practice.

The majority leader, Hon. Lugard Osuji who represents Owerri Municipal state constituency not only answered in the negative but quickly moved a motion for the adjournment of the house till next plenary.

A House of Assembly staff who pleaded anonymity told The Agenda that Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo had become fond of not paying salaries and wages of staff on time, and is probably using it as a tool against the lawmakers.

The Agenda had published that the House of Assembly abandoned the supplementary budget presented to it by the Governor, during its last sitting.
