LAGOS IJAWS UNITED IN HOSTING UDUAGHAN, SAYS GROUP

The Ijaw Communities Leadership Forum, South-West (ICLF) has urged the general public to ignore the statement issued by one Mr. Regent Youmor, to the effect that the Ijaw people in Lagos were deceived to attend the hosting of Uduaghan in Lagos, describing it as the cry of a lone ranger.

The group said: 'Youmor came to the occasion with the intension of making himself relevant but was resisted.'

In a statement signed by the President of Ijaw Communities Leadership Forum South West, Chief Shedrack Agboro, the group stated that the over five thousand crowd that attended the peaceful celebration was enough sign that Ijaws were proud of Governor Udughan's activities.

'The man in question requested that he be called to the high table at the event but he was made to realize that the programme was different from other programmes, where he was recognized at the high table because of his age,' the Forum said.  This, according to the group, angered him because he was disallowed in the Udughan hosting.

'He said he is Ijaw community chairman and coordinator of Niger Delta Amazons. This is laughable. The ICLF has over eighty Ijaw community leaders in Lagos alone, representing their various communities, apart from other South-West states. There is no Ijaw that does not know what is happening in their various states and if Udughan's government is not working, the crowd would not respond positively,' the group said.
