SAN FRANCISCO, April 29, (THEWILL) – The transition committees of the Federal government and President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari have clashed over what the Federal Executive Council (FEC) described as over the board terms of reference being bandied by members of the Buhari team.

Minister of National Planning, Abubakar Sulaiman, told State House Correspondents after Wednesday's FEC meeting that President Goodluck Jonathan has warned Buhari against running a parallel government, urging the committee to jettison anything that could portray it as doing so.

Though the Minister did not elaborate on what the contentious issues in the terms of reference were, he said the FEC warned members of the Buhari transition committee to back down adding that the President's magnanimity since the elections should not be mistaken for cowardice.

“President Goodluck Jonathan remains President of Nigeria until May 29, 2015 when Buhari is sworn in,” he said.
