A'Ibom Gov-Elect Leads Supporters To Victory Service in Church

It was all singing, dancing and worship to God Almighty at Qua Iboe Church, Ikot Ekpene road where the Divine Mandate Campaign team led by the Akwa Ibom governor-elect Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel went to give all the glory to God for their resounding victory at the polls.

The governor-elect Deacon Udom Emmanuel said he came to give all glory to God Almighty for being so faithful to him and as part of his pledge to appreciate God after a successful outing.

Udom said, "I came here today to sing, dance and worship my God who sent his son Jesus Christ to die for our sins," noting that as a state after God's heart God brought him at a time like this to ensure that there is continuity and consolidation as well as industrialization and job creation.

He acknowledged God for a peaceful election in the State even as he announced that no member of the Divine Mandate Campaign Council was involved in any unforeseen situation throughout the period of the election.

“We decided to come together this evening and sing praises to God because as the bible says, prayers move mountains while praises move God,” Udom enthused.

The Governor-elect used the occasion to thank the people of the State for their resounding support, and reiterated his desire to keep his promise of creating wealth and job opportunities in the State.

The state Governor Chief Godswill Akpabio who was represented by his deputy Lady Valerie Ebe commended the people of the State for standing by the truth and electing a God-fearing and well experienced leader with the capacity to surpass the uncommon achievements of the present administration.

He assured that Udom will not disappoint on his campaign promises urged all to continue pray for the government at all levels in the country.

In an exhortation Rev. Ibup Emah charged Christians to live above board and always rely on God for all their aspirations in life maintaining that authorities belong to God and He gives to whoever he pleases.

He said that it was exemplary that the Governor-elect came back to appreciate God for his mercies and express belief that the incoming governor will operate with the fear of God in order to attract more blessings to the State.

The event featured praise and worship, hymn, a performance by renowned songstress Esther Edoho.

A cross section of indigenes who spoke with our correspondence noted "I think this is a good step in the right direction because Jesus Christ is the owner of everything, I am happy that our governor-elect is handing over all affairs to God Almighty".

Others on the Divine Mandate train were the deputy governor-elect Mr Moses Ekpo, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly Sam Ikon, a former governor of the state Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga who is also the campaign Director General of the Udom/Moses 2015 Campaign Council, his deputy DG Ben Udobia, the international President of Akwa Ibom Consolidation Alliance (ACA) Bishop Andrew Uwanta, the state PDP chairman Obong Paul Ekpo, PDP chieftains and winners of the just concluded elections.
