All is not well in the camp of Umana Umana the APC governorship candidate as the national caucuses have concluded plans to replace him as the leader of the party in the state.

Our correspondent gathered from an inside source in Lagos that Bola Tinubu, the APC national leader is unhappy with the bad, lackluster leadership of his party in the state and has given marching orders to his close aides to begin a search for a more credible person that can challenge the Peoples Democratic Party under the leadership of Chief (Dr) Godswill Obot Akpabio.

Another source hinted that even the president-elect Mohamadu Buhari had confided in Tinubu that “Umana Okon Umana is the most corrupt and selfish politician in the country because of his acclaimed wealth”.

Buhari said that he only supported him to fly the party's flag because he thought that Umana could deliver votes for his Presidential bid. “As you can see the Akwa Ibom man contributed absolutely nothing in terms of votes to my election, I won the election without his votes and support.”

He noted that Umana that Umana was a liability as his choice only increased the popularity and acceptance of the PDP Candidate Mr. Udom Emmanuel .

It would be recalled that Ameachi had told Umana that he lacked what is needed to lead the party in the state as he failed to mobilize enough supporters for the Presidential Campaigns of the APC when the train visited Akwa Ibom state. Ameachi reportedly told Umana “You have a lot of work to do”.

Umana Okon Umana was initially a governorship aspirant under the PDP until he discovered that he lacked what is needed to compete with the acceptance and popularity of Mr. Udom Emmanuel, his movement to APC caused bad blood in the party as top chieftains has since voiced out against his corrupt history and most of them had since decamped to other political parties.

Leading the defection was the APC state legal adviser Barr. Andem Ndem, also the leader of APC, Sen. J J Akpanudoedehe who is also a BOT member of the party had since advised his supporters to reject Umana Umana as he represents “a selfish and satanic agenda to return Akwa Ibomite to the past”.

The senator also reminded the electorate that Umana Umana was the architect of the downfall of top Ibibios in the state.

According to an impeccable source, Umana is meanwhile seriously soliciting to be considered as the ministerial nominee from the State following his imminent defeat in the governorship race.
