Special Assistant to the Governor of Ekiti State on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka has assured that the Ayodele Fayose-led government will pay all outstanding salaries and benefits of workers in the State.

Olayinka, said in a statement issued on Tuesday that the Fayose administration had been paying workers salary since its emergence in October 2014; adding that "it was the All Progressives Congress (APC) government of the immediate past Governor Kayode Fayemi that denied teachers and other workers their August and September salaries."

He reminded the workers, especially teachers that Fayose met 11 months unpaid salary of local government workers in 2013 and paid, assuring that the governor will do the same this time around.

The governor's aide said; "Fayemi's government collected July and August Federal Allocations that should have been used to pay August and September salaries but refused to pay the workers.

"Not only that, he did not remit workers Cooperative Societies deductions and Workers Unions check off dues for June, July, August and September.

"It is a known fact that July allocation was released in August while that of August was paid in September. Allocation of September was released in October. That is why it is always stated by the Federal Ministry of Finance thus; 'October Allocation Shared in November.'

"In other words, allocation of say December, 2014 will be released in January, 2015. Meaning that salary of December, 2014 was paid with allocation of November.

"Fayemi, who collected the July and August, 2014 allocation should have paid the outstanding August and September salaries but he refused.

"However, Governor Fayose is working assiduously to save enough fund to be able to clear the outstanding salaries and very soon, all outstanding salaries will be paid."

Olayinka said the Fayose-led government demonstrated its workers-friendliness by paying both December salary and Christmas bonus to workers before the 25th of December so that they could have a splendid festive celebration.
