How Man Died After Accepting A Bet To Drink 8 cans Of Energy Drink

If Mr. Elijah Nwankwo from Ebonyi had known that daring to gulp down 8 cans of Bullet Energy drink would take him to the world of the dead, he would have knocked off such temptation.

The trouble started when Nwankwo, of Ikwo Local Government Area of the state took up a bet necessitated by Chikwado Nchionu to drink 8 full cans of the Energy drink. The result of the bet was Nwankwo's death.

Ebere Amarizu, the police spokesperson in Enugu state has released a statement confirming the incident.

According to the statement, the victim had on Dec. 11 agreed to drink eight cans of energy drink for N1,600 to be paid by one Chikwado, who challenged him to the bet.

“After taking the energy drink, he became weak and went into coma. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Enugu where he was confirmed dead by a doctor.”

“The body of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital's mortuary”, the statement added.
