As the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, prepares for this weekend's National Assembly primaries, Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has reiterated his call on delegates and contestants to eschew acts of violence and play the game according to the rules.

The Governor, who made the call in a statement, urged the various contestants to put in their best, while also allowing the will of God to prevail, as power comes from the Creator alone.

The Bayelsa State Chief Executive further advised youths not to allow themselves to be used by desperate contestants to cause a breach of the peace and be watchful not to allow hoodlums and criminal minded persons from neighbouring states into their midst to create insecurity and wanton destruction of lives and property.

According to him, only delegates and the contestants will be allowed into the various venues, stressing that, the security agencies have been put on full alert to deal with any acts of lawlessness and brigandage across the State.

While advising non delegates and supporters of the various contestants to steer clear of the venues of the primaries, Hon. Dickson equally enjoined individuals or groups that may not be satisfied with the outcome of the primaries to seek redress, using the already laid down procedures of the PDP, instead of taking the laws into their hands.

He further called on the delegates to vote according to their preference and conviction and not be intimidated by any individual or individuals.

Governor Dickson however, pointed out that, the Government was privy to plans by some incumbent office holders to harm, maim and even kill to achieve their selfish motives, stressing that, the Government and people of the State would hold such persons responsible for any loss of lives and property.

He used the opportunity to commend Bayelsans for their peaceful conduct, especially in last weekend's State House of Assembly primaries and urged them to maintain the current wave of peace and tranquility across the State.
