IMO DEPUTY ADVISES MOTORISTS, PEDESTRIANS TO OBSERVE SAFETY RULES

Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has advised motorists to be extremely careful and avoid reckless driving this ember month.

He made this statement as he addressed the people on present while helping to rescue three victims at the accident scene last weekend at Amaulu-Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government of Imo State.

Prince Madumere who ensured that three critically injured victims were not only taken to the hospital but were admitted for intensive medical care also warned against intake of alcohol and hard drugs while on the road.

He however called for the observation of all safety rules in driving especially the ember months, which he said is a critical period as people will be traveling home.

The number two citizen of Imo State who is the Chairman of Imo State chapter of Red Cross Society called on the Federal Road Safety Agency FRSC and other rletated agencies to ensure that only vehicles that are Road worthy ply the Roads.

Speaking further, he called on Commuters to also be wary of vehicles they enter as it is their right to assess the condition and choose rightly.

The 2014 Voice African Personality of the Year, who ensured that the driver of a Hiace bus who knocked down a tricycle which caused serious bodily injuries on both rider and the passers by, is handed over to the police to avoid being lynched by the angry locales, also tasks Nigerians to learn how to give First Aides so as to help to save lives. "Most of our loved ones lost their lives because of the lack of knowledge of the right things to do in minor accident cases.

He therefore called for general enlightenment by various unions and agencies for the members and the people they regulate in the transport industry.
