Acting Governor Fintiri Wins Adamawa PDP Guber Ticket

Acting governor of Adamawa State, Hon. Umaru Fintiri has emerged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Adamawa State.

At the end of the party's primary election which ended in the early hours of Sunday, Fintiri reportedly polled over 600 votes to beat his closest rival, the immediate past Executive Secretary, Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Dr. Ahmed Modibbo Mohammed, who reportedly polled 125 votes.

PDP sources at the primary election told Pointblanknews.com that a Former military administrator of Lagos State, General Buba Marwa polled about 60 votes, with a former presidential adviser Ahmed Gulak polling one vote.

Pointblanknews.com gathered that the withdrawal from the contest by several aspirants, including a former anti-corruption Czar, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, smoothened Fintiri's path to victory.
