Atiku to deliver keynote address at communication conference

The Department of Mass Communication, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, would host this year's conference of the African Council for Communication Education.

Secretary of the Local Organising Committee, Dr. Mike Ukonu, made this disclosure on Wednesday, in Enugu.

Dr. Ukonu, who is a senior lecturer in the department, said former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, would deliver the keynote address entitled, 'Media, Youth and Nigeria's Development.'

He said, 'The former vice president's speech would centre largely on inspiring the media and youths in ensuring the conduct of a peaceful, free and 2015 general elections.

'His speech would also outline the role of the media and youth in Nigeria's development and beyond 2015 elections.'

Ukonu said the conference would be held at Princess Alexandra Auditorium of the university.

'The arrival date is Sunday, March 9, 2014. The conference proper would hold for two days - March 10 and March 11, 2014 and the departure date is Tuesday, March 12,' he said.
