Nigeria will overcome current security challenges - Jonathan
Despite the ongoing offensive by Islamic sect, Boko Haram, which has assumed a different dimension in the last few weeks in the northern part of the country, especially Borno State, President Goodluck Jonathan has reiterated his earlier assurance that Nigeria will overcome its current security challenges.
The President gave this assurance on Sunday while worshipping at the Dunamis International Gospel Church, Area one, Abuja, where he said that terrorism was a global trend with Nigeria sadly having its share, adding that the situation could have been worse but for prayers by Nigerians.
“If you watch television, both local and foreign, we always have negative news as breaking news. The whole world is almost in trouble and as a nation, we are bound to have our own fair share. With your prayers, surely we will overcome our challenges.”
“Let me sincerely appreciate Dr. Paul Enenche and Dr. Mrs. Enenche for what they have been doing for us. Being a young man and a lady well trained in the scientific way of doing things. But scientific way of healing does not give you total healing. If you go for a major treatment in any hospital, they may tell you to come every three months or six months for check ups, that means it is not total.
“It is only spiritual healing that is total. We thank you for what you have been doing”, he said.
The President who commended the Senior of the Church, Pastor, Paul Enenche and his wife who are both medical doctors turned clerics as well as the pastoral team for their consistent support and prayers for the country, revealed that every last Sunday of the month he now worships outside the State House Chapel.
Earlier in his sermon quoted from Proverbs 22:7, Genesis 14:22 to 23, Job 1:1 to 3, Proverb 14:11, Pastor Enenche said that no man needs to live fraudulently to succeed.
He maintained that ‘Fraudulent Practices’ was one of the five anti-covenant practices preached in the five church services yesterday.
According to him, Abraham and Job in the Bible accounts did not soil their hands as they lived uprightly and were rich and blessed.
Bringing it closer home to Nigeria, he listed a range of fraudulent practices in the system that will not allow God to answer prayers including Pastors diverting church funds, teachers supervising ‘expos’ and forcing down handouts for monetary gains, workers who report late to work and sign false arrival time, workers who inflate purchasing receipts, housewife who make long market list to defraud her husband, students who give long book list to defraud the parents, and marketers who mix kerosene with petrol.
The implications of fraudulent practices Enenche said include transgression against the laws of God, displaying a lack of confidence in God and charging God with unfairness.
The Pastor gave three counsel to the congregation in order to avoid fraudulent practices which include: “Looking away from what is not yours, labour honestly and diligently, and looking up to the rewarder of diligent labour.
“Whatever God has not given to you and you take, it does not add anything to you, but take away something from you. Crookedness today equals affliction tomorrow”, he warned.
Paul Enenche prayed for the President to take ‘rugged’ decisions at the right time which are in the fear of God and rule of law, irrespective of whose ox is gored.
The Pastor ‎specifically prayed that God will grant the President the courage needed in taking decisive steps that will transform the country and to uphold the rule of law.
