Nigeria To SA Without Keshi

Nigeria's Super Eagles are likely to depart for South Africa for CHAN on Tuesday without coach Stephen Keshi, who will attend the CAF Awards ceremony in Lagos on Thursday.

Keshi has been nominated for the Coach of the Year along with fellow Nigerian and U17 coach Manu Garba and Paul Put of Burkina Faso.

Keshi said he is open on this award, saying it will be an honour to win it on Thursday.

He led Nigeria to qualify for the 2014 World Cup as well as win a third Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa in February.

Kadiri Ikhana and Okey Emordi are the two Nigerian coaches who have bagged the award previously after they led Enyimba to win the CAF Champions League in 2003 and 2004 respectively.
