We welcome you all to this press conference on behalf of the teaming millions of Nigeria Youth of Anambra State, As observers and major stake holders in Anambra State, Haven collated The reports of activities from our members on the supposedly governorship election of our dear State on the 16th November 2013,we have the followings to say
1. The people of Anambra State excitedly prepared for the election to massively and peacefully participate in the election for the purpose of electing the Governor of the people's choice that will serve the people and bring about the much needed development in Anambra State and because of this, The people turned out messily to their polling boots from as early as 7.00am,waiting for the voting materials and officials.
2. To our greatest surprise and disappointment over 80% of the electorates were disappointed as they suffered various degree of election malpractice, from late arrival of materials, non arrival of material, late arrival of material without result sheets, intimidation and harassment of the electorates by the security aids to harass people during election by known figures of the ruling party in the State, sharing of money to buy votes during voting, disfranchising of the electorates with valid voters card from voting even when they checked and saw their names in the voters register when it was displayed two weeks ago; in fact we saw situation where voters with valid voters card saw their names in the displayed register that were displayed some weeks ago and those displayed register were still in the vicinity of the pooling boot with their names and records on it,but not on the register that INEC was using on the election day.
To confirm these, Prof Attahiru Jega the chairman of INEC admits that some of the INEC officers ”messed up” and claimed that one of them has been handed over to the police for further actions even when he did not mention the name of such officer or the police command that is handling the investigation which brings a big question mark to Jega's claim of intergrity and confirm that Prof. Jega has not just lost the control of inec but also culpable in the open show of shame,fraud and INEC displayed on the saturday 16th november 2013 in Anambra state and it is very far from what any right thinking person can call free and fair election
with the above stated reasons, as major stake holders in project thats Nigeria,who have paid bitter prices and made sacrifices for the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria and who will stop at nothing for the protection of democracy in Nigeria, we therefore make the following calls.
1. Immediately and total cancellation of Anambra governorship election thats was suppose to take place in Anambra on 16th day of November,2013 as it is far from what we can call election..
2. We also,Unequivocally call for the Immediate resignation of prof.Attahiru jega as INEC chairman as his integrity is not just in in doubt,but he also lost the control of INEC and now that he cannot conduct free,fair and credible election in Anambra State alone,one wonders what will happen in 2015 general election?
3. Immediate commencement of fresh,free ,fair and credible election governorship election in Anambra state with credible voters register.
4. We call for immediate intervention of His Excellency ,Dr. Goodluck Jonathan for the Implementation to free,fair,and credible election Nigeria under his leadership
5.The whole world is watching us finally ,we want to make it clear that Nigeria youths have resolved to stop at nothing until these calls are fully met as we cannot afford the the derailment of democracy in Nigeria haven made the most supreme sacrifice for its attainment.
