ANAMBRA GOES AGOG AS THUNDEROUS CROWD WELCOMES COMRADE TONY NWOYE

It was carnival-like arena yesterday at Amansea, the sleepy boundary town between Anambra and Enugu state when Comrade Tony Nwoye, the gubernatorial candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming election made triumphant entry into the state. The crowd who came out en-masse to welcome the man of the moment was such that has never been witnessed in the state in recent times and can only be second to the crowd during the burial of late Igbo eternal leader Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

Vehicular movement was obstructed along the ever busy Enugu – Onitsha Express way and the attendant trafic hold-up stretches throughout the Awka capital city and its environs..

After managing his way through the crowd, at about 2pm, Tony Nwoye mounted the stage with his running mate Dr Amanchukwu Ezike and Ken Emeakayi, the state PDP leader, he told the surging crowd that he has decided to sacrifice his time and resources in order to offer the kind of leadership Ndi-Anambra need for a positive development of our state.” He said that its time to give governance back to the people (grassroots) and that the time of deceits which had been the hallmark of governance in the last 8 years of APGA led government in the State. His speech was often interrupted by the crowd who rent the air with “we want Tony Nwoye”

In his speech, the Anambra state PDP leader said that Anambra state is a traditional PDP state and that they should not fail to take back their rightful place in the governance of the state. He enjoined them to eschew bitterness and all forms of political infighting which could be detrimental to the victory of the party in the forthcoming election.

Continuing , he noted that families do have challenges, and PDP as a family may sometimes have little differences which can be always resolved internaly before the elecion From the reception venue,Party fathfuls,Ward supporters and some members of the National and State Assembly that came to welcome Comrade Tony Nwoye marched to the Party House and the Campaign offices respectively situated at the Udoka Housing Estate More activities will soon commence, especially at the Official flag-off of the Campaign by the party National Leadership where the President Dr Goodluck Jonathan will be in attendance
