SAN FRANCISCO, July 30, (THEWILL) - The Edo State Government Tuesday sealed off the administrative office of Federal Airports Authority Of Nigeria (FAAN) located inside the Benin International Airport over unpaid taxes due to the state government.

Government sources told THEWILL that the Adams Oshiomhole led state government had issued a warning to the aviation agency to pay all outstanding monies owed the state or risk closure.

Though the seal off shut down activities at the airport this morning, the facility has however resumed its normal operations.

Witnesses told THEWILL that vehicles couldn't drive into the airport this morning because the gate to the airport was shut.

The temporary closure of the gate led to a gridlock on the busy airport road.

Some analysts are of the opinion that Governor Oshiomhole has evened scores with the federal ministry of aviation which forced a commercial chopper flying the governor to Anambra State to return to the airport over unpaid fees.
