PDP condemns deportation of 70 Igbos by Fashola

Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described as illegal the deportation of persons of Igbo extraction from Lagos State by the  administration of Governor Babatunde.

The governmemt last week allegedly detained  70 indigenes of the Igbo extraction, took them to Niger Bridge, where they were dumped.
the state PDP said in a statement by its publicity secretary, Mr Taofeek Gani, on Sunday that the  the victims were 'arrested, detained somewhere in Ikorodu for over six months and eventually deported to Anambra State.'

The PDP, while lamenting the occurrence, said the ugly revelation that the state Task Force indiscriminately arrested and detained innocent people, including minors or those who were unable to pay their exorbitant fines, attested 'to the allegation that Fashola is a fascist and has illegal detention camps all over the state.

'He has indeed showed his real self. We demand a public apology from Governor Fashola and a stop to the recurrent harassment to the economic, social and human rights of nonindigenes in the state,' the PDP said.
