suspends Orubebe, 9 others

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Burutu Local Government Area chapter of Delta State on has  announced  the suspension of the Minister of  Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe and nine others.

Their suspension was anchored on contempt of  party leadership and anti-party activities. They were accused of misconducts likely to bring about disrepute, hatred, contempt and anti-party activities against the party.

In a press statement signed by after its meeting that held in Burutu town, headquarters of Burutu Local Government Area, Delta state on Tuesday, stated that the suspension was as a result of petitions received from concerned PDP faithful against  Orubebe and nine others.

'After a preliminary hearing pursuant to Section 21.4 of the PDP constitution as amended, and by the virtue of the powers conferred on us, the working committee of the party via Section 21.4 of the same constitution, we hereby place Elder Godsday Orubebe and his nine cohorts on suspension,  the chairman of the party in the area, Pastor Kenneth Ogeibiri, said in a statement jointly signed with secretary, Ozano Ayedi and three others.

They said the suspension  came after its meeting that held in Burutu town, headquarters of Burutu Local Government Area, Delta state on Tuesday.

The statement added,  'The suspension is triggered off by series of allegations of gross misconduct ranging from acts likely to bring the party to disrepute, hatred, contempt and anti-party activities. In light of these, Elder Godsday Orubebe and the affected nine others are hereby referred to the PDP disciplinary committee, Burutu Local Government Area chapter for further investigations,' the statement concluded.

Meanwhile, Elder Orubebe, who has allegedly been suspended along other stalwarts of the party, could not be reached for reaction.
