Jaiz Bank Plc has announced the appointment of Mr. Hassan Usman as its Acting Managing Director.

The appointment, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by the bank, followed the resignation of the erstwhile Managing Director, Muhammed Bintube, after almost 10 years of service.

Prior to his appointment, Usman was the General Manager in charge of the bank's Business Development Group.

His appointment has been approved by the bank's Board of Directors.

The new MD, according to the statement, is a trained accountant who graduated with a first class degree in Accounting from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1985.

Usman became an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria in 1989 and obtained his post graduate diploma in Management in 1995 from the Maastricht School of Management.

The statement explained that Bintube's decision to leave at this time was personal, especially having achieved the mandate given to him by the bank's Board of Directors.

The statement further reiterated the bank's commitment to its underlining principles of high ethics, transparency, fairness and the socio-economic development of the Nigerian people.

Jaiz got its regional banking licence from the Central Bank of Nigeria on November 11, 2011 and commenced operations on the January 6, 2012 in three locations - Abuja, Kano and Kaduna - with additional branches to be opened soon in Maiduguri, Gombe and Katsina.
