A House of Representative member representing Ife Federal Constituency and deputy chairman committee on Human Rights, Hon. Rotimi Makinde has described the merger process being embarked upon by four opposition parties to oust the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the only option that could reposition Nigeria.

In a statement made available to newsmen, Makinde said the merger is a golden chance for the Nigerian people to be left off the hook of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which according to him has continue to drag the nation backward.

While urging the various leaders and parties in the alliance to jettison their individual differences or ambition, Makinde asserts that the merger will lay a very good foundation for the country.

His words: "I can honestly predict victory for the newly formed All Progressive Congress (APC) because Nigerians are tired of the PDP already.

"Nigerians can now breathe a fresh air of relief from the tyranny, mis-rule, and incompetence of the PDP which is constantly putting the country in reverse gear."

Makinde, who is a member of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), noted further that the pedigree of the parties involved would be a point of reference for the success of the merger come 2015.

"I believe some members of the PDP who are ordinary tired of the antics of the party since 1999 will soon join the progressive boat of APC to liberate the country from the jaw of the PDP," he said.
