NEW PDP FACTION EMERGES IN KANO

The new group is tagged PDP Jamiyya to make it even with the PDP Kwankwasiyya.
This came to light when executive members of the group were formally introduced by Ambassador Aminu Wali at a press conference along Maiduguri road, in the state capital.
During an inaugural speech, chairman of PDP Jamiyya, Senator Aminu Inuwa saad that their collective action became necessary in order to ensure justice.
''Basically,'' he said, ''the assumed leadership of Kano State was single-handedly assembled by the Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwasiyya, so as to pursue his egoistic Kwankwasiyya agenda. There will never be justice through an injustice. This is with regard to the pathetic situation of the PDP in Kano State.''
He described existing leadership structure at wards, local government and state levels as illegitimate as the process that threw them up was contrary to the party's constitution, articles 14.5 and 15.1 respectively.
While introducing the new executives, Ambassador Wali said the faction emerged after all avenues for amicable settlement were exhausted.
He urged members to see themselves as servants of the masses, and said that the PDP Jamiyya would soon organize elections at wards, local and state levels to pave way for a state convention soon.
Meanwhile, Abia State Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) Chairman Senator Emma Nwaka has denied claims by the former Governor of Abia State, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu that he had been registered as a member of the party in his home ward, Igbere Ward A.
In a telephone interview with LEADERSHIP yesterday, Senator Nwaka said the party registration number Chief Kalu was claiming to have been issued with by the party officials in Igbere Ward A was fake as that executive had resigned since January 10, 2013, long before the claimed registration.
The executive of both wards in Igbere he said, handed over their party registers and unused cards when they resigned and there is no way he (Kalu) would have been registered without his name in the Party Register. As I am talking to you the name Chief Orji Uzor Kalu is not in the party's register.
He said that the former Governor can not be registered in the party without the knowledge of the party leadership in the state. 'I do not know him now as a member of the party', he said.
The Abia PDP Chairman also said it was childish the allegation by the former Governor that the State Party leadership was using soldiers to hound the two chairmen of Igbere wards that he claimed registered him . How can I tell the Brigade Commander to deploy soldiers to arrest ward party
