The positives of the TOP10MICS concert 2012

The 2012 edition of the mother of all music concerts, TOP10MICS may have come and gone but the positive aspects of the memorable concert cannot be ignored. The Koga Entertainment concert brought under one roof, the heavyweights in the industry such as 2face, Dbanj, Femi Kuti, Sir Shina Peters, DJs Jimmy Jatt and Neptune, BasketMouth and OAP, Yaw.

The Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos played host to the concert with several people attending the event with celebrities such as Rukky Sanda, Uti Nwachukwu, Sunny Neji, Alariwo of Africa, Alex Ekubo, Omawumi, Waje, Cecil Hammond, Moses Inyang and a host of others.

The performances of Hypertek Honcho, 2face Idibia and Kokomaster, Dbanj could not be faulted as they gave a performance of their lives, the duo performed separately to a live band which is quite new in Nigeria's entertainment scene. 2baba as he is fondly called performed more than five tracks back to back as he serenaded the crowd on the night.

Dbanj took everybody by surprise including the organizers as he came to the show with his friends and brother; Ikechukwu, Naeto C and K Switch performed alongside Dbanj with Special ED as his hype man. Afrobeat icon, Femi Kuti and Afro Juju Maestro, Shina Peters didn't disappoint the audience too with their live beats which got most of the audience on their feet throughout the period which they performed.

This year's concert was an improvement on the maiden edition which took place at the famous Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) as Eko Hotel provides a better sitting arrangement than the TBS. The performances of this year's event was more rewarding as the four artistes that came on stage performed close to an hour each which was a good value for the money as some people actually bought tables at the concert.

The introduction of two top-of-the-class DJs, Jimmy Jatt and Neptune provided some competition of some sort which ultimately went down well with the audience as they had the opportunity to see these two top disc jockeys do their thing on stage.

Anu Awoseyi of Koga Entertainment spoke on the success of the concert ''We want to thank the esteemed organizations that supported Koga Entertainment this year, it was great working with them, they indeed advanced our cause this year. TOP10MICS was a success in all ramifications, to the producer of the event, Omoh Talabi, we can't thank you enough. We look forward to doing more in 2013''.
