CVL TO HONOUR DR ALEX EKWUEME AS PART OF ITS LEADER WITHOUT TITLE SERIES (LWT)

The Centre for Values in Leadership (CVL) will on Monday, 5th of November hold a colloquium in honour of Dr Alex Ekwueme to commemorate his 80th birthday. The Event will take place at Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, at 10.00am. The theme of the colloquium is RE-INVENTING TRUE FEDERALISM. The panel of discussants for the forum include Mr Olisa Agbakoba (Former President, NBA), Prof Bola Akinterinwa (DG, NIIA), Senator Chris Ngige (Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria), Mr Femi Falana. The Colloquium will be moderated by Prof Bolaji Akinyemi.

Earlier in the month of October as part of the LWT Series, the Centre for Values in Leadership (CVL) held a colloquium themed Intermodal Transport Effectiveness- Which Way Forward in honour of Mr Martins Ikediashi, Chairman/CEO, Premier Plant leasing Company to commemorate his 70th birthday. The Event which took place at the CVL leadership Development Centre in Victoria Island Lagos was attended by Mr I.S Olisemeka(a former Minister of Foreign Affairs), Mr Peter Okocha, Mr Wale Olaolapo(MD/CEO- Soverign Trust Insurance Plc) Representatives of NARTO(Nigerian Association of Road Transport Operators) as well as a host of other dignitaries, major players in the Transport Sector, friends and associates of Mr Ikediashi.

Barr. Emmanuel Gowon one of the 5 panelists representing the President of NARTO called for a strategic working partnership between the road transport operators and the operators in the Railway sector to ensure a better and more effective land transport system for Nigerians. Other panelist who spoke in same vein were Mr Pierre Van Hoeylanbt(MD/CEO, Marathon Logistics), Mr Frank Ojadi (Lecturer, Lagos Business School) Mr Edeme Kalikume, Mr Uche Nwokorie(Representing DG of NIMASA).

Prof Pat Utomi, Founder/CEO praised Mr Ikediashi for his several years of service to Nigeria especially in the transport sector where he pioneered a lot of transformation in the sector. Utomi stated that the CVL Leader Without Title Series (LWT) to honour Mr Ikediashi and several other relatively unsung individuals who have contributed immensely in all spheres of our National life was motivated by Robin Sharma's philosophy of Leadership expressed in his book titled The Leaders Without A Title.

The CVL Leader Without Title Series (LWTS) follows the Monthly and Quarterly Role Model Forum Series (RMF) for Young professionals and Students of Tertiary Institutions across the country. Mr Felix Ohiewere and Dr Doyin Abiola will be sharing their life and career experience with young profesionals at the CVL Leadership Development Centre on the 20th of October. Their presentations will follow a tradition of such earlier CVL RMF speakers like Dr. Christopher Kolade,Coca-Cola Nigeria Managing Director Kelvin Balogun, Mr. Leo Stan Ekeh, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, Prof. Pat Utomi (Founder - CVL) and others who have shown in several presentations that values underpin leadership effectiveness.
