Akor Adams Set for Record-Breaking Move to Venezia

Nigerian forward Akor Adams is on the verge of completing a move to Italian side Venezia after the club reportedly reached a transfer agreement with Sevilla for his services.

The Serie A newcomers have been pursuing the Super Eagles striker for several weeks and have now succeeded after submitting an improved offer that satisfied the Spanish club's valuation.

The transfer is expected to cost Venezia around €16 million, making Adams the most expensive player in the club's history.

Reports indicate that the 26-year-old has already agreed to personal terms, leaving only the final administrative steps before the deal is officially announced.

The move will provide Adams with a fresh opportunity to continue his career in one of Europe's top leagues.

Last season, the striker contributed 10 goals and three assists in 32 league appearances for Sevilla, establishing himself as an important figure in the team's attack despite experiencing injury setbacks during the early months of his time in Spain.

Adams joined Sevilla from French club Montpellier in January 2025 after previously impressing in Norway with Lillestrøm.

He has also begun making his mark on the international stage, scoring on his Super Eagles debut during a World Cup qualifying match and later helping Nigeria secure a third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

For Venezia, the signing signals their ambition to strengthen the squad after earning promotion back to Serie A.

The club hopes experienced additions like Adams will improve their chances of avoiding relegation and establishing themselves in the Italian top flight.
