Barau FC Set July 13 For Pre-Season Training Ahead of New NPFL Campaign

Barau FC have confirmed that preparations for the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season will officially begin on Monday, July 13, as the club looks to build on an encouraging debut campaign.

The Kano-based side announced that all 21 players retained from last season's squad are expected to report for pre-season training on the scheduled date.

Meanwhile, the club's newly recruited players have been instructed to arrive at camp a day earlier to complete registration and other onboarding activities before full training gets underway.

Barau FC are determined to make further progress after finishing eighth in their first-ever NPFL season. The impressive performance in their maiden top-flight campaign has raised expectations among supporters, with the club aiming to challenge for a higher league position this time around.

The management has also decided to maintain stability within the coaching department by retaining technical adviser Eugene Agagbe for the upcoming season.

The club believes continuity on the bench will provide a solid foundation as the team prepares for another competitive league campaign.

Nicknamed the Maliya Boys, Barau FC exceeded expectations in their debut season by competing strongly against more experienced NPFL sides.

Club officials are optimistic that a productive pre-season, combined with the addition of fresh talent, will help the team improve on last season's achievements.

The pre-season programme is expected to focus on fitness, tactical drills and integrating new signings into the squad before the league kicks off. With preparations now scheduled, players and coaching staff will begin work next week as Barau FC target another memorable season in Nigeria's top division and continue their steady rise in domestic football.
