Mamelodi Sundowns Target Super Eagles Defender Olisa Ndah
South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly interested in signing Nigerian centre-back Olisa Ndah as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
Ndah is currently available as a free agent after his contract with Stellenbosch FC came to an end. The 28-year-old only joined the club during the second half of last season following his departure from Orlando Pirates.
His time at Stellenbosch was disrupted by administrative issues, as delays in securing a work permit restricted his involvement.
As a result, the former Akwa United defender featured in just seven matches before leaving the club at the end of his deal.
According to reports from South Africa, Sundowns have shortlisted Ndah as one of the players capable of reinforcing their defensive unit.
The club is looking to add quality and experience to its backline as it prepares to compete on multiple fronts in the upcoming campaign.
Discussions between the player's representatives and the Pretoria-based side are believed to be progressing positively, although no official agreement has been announced.
Ndah built a strong reputation during his spell with Orlando Pirates, where he became a regular starter and helped the club win several domestic honours. His consistent performances also earned him recognition at international level.
The defender has represented Nigeria four times and was included in the Super Eagles squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
A move to Mamelodi Sundowns would offer him another opportunity to compete for major trophies and return to regular first-team football.
