World Cup: Harry Kane Climbs into FIFA’s Top Five All-Time Goalscorers

England captain Harry Kane has strengthened his place among the greatest goalscorers in FIFA World Cup history after finding the net in his country's dramatic 3-2 victory over Mexico in the Round of 16.

The Bayern Munich striker scored one of England's three goals as the Three Lions secured qualification for the quarter-finals.

The strike also marked another personal milestone for Kane, taking his World Cup tally to 14 goals from just 16 appearances across multiple editions of the tournament.

With that achievement, Kane has moved into a share of fifth place on the competition's all-time scoring chart alongside German legend Gerd Müller, who also finished his World Cup career with 14 goals.

Only four players have scored more World Cup goals than the England skipper. Argentina's Lionel Messi currently leads the rankings with 20 goals, while France forward Kylian Mbappe follows with 19.

Germany's Miroslav Klose sits third on 16 goals, ahead of Brazil icon Ronaldo Nazário, who registered 15 during his international career.

Kane's remarkable consistency at football's biggest tournament has further enhanced his legacy as one of England's finest forwards.

Since making his World Cup debut, the 32-year-old has delivered goals in crucial matches and remains one of the tournament's most reliable finishers.

England will now look to continue their impressive campaign in the quarter-finals, with Kane expected to play a leading role once again.

Should he maintain his scoring form, the prolific striker could climb even higher on the all-time World Cup scoring list before the tournament comes to an end.
