Frank Onyeka Completes Permanent Move to Coventry City
Nigeria international Frank Onyeka has officially sealed a permanent transfer to Coventry City after a successful loan spell with the club during the second half of last season.
The midfielder arrived at Coventry from Brentford on loan in January and quickly became an important member of the squad.
Following the opening of the summer transfer window, the Sky Blues activated the agreement to make his stay permanent.
Onyeka made 14 Championship appearances during his loan spell, scoring once as Coventry secured promotion to the Premier League.
His performances convinced the club to retain his services ahead of their return to England's top flight.
The 27-year-old also brings valuable experience from his time at Brentford, where he featured in 75 Premier League matches after joining the Bees from Danish side FC Midtjylland.
Speaking after completing the move, Onyeka expressed his delight at continuing his journey with Coventry City.
He said he is looking forward to the new campaign and remains determined to help the club establish itself in the Premier League.
The Super Eagles midfielder revealed that his ambition is to contribute both on and off the pitch by using his experience to support his teammates.
He also promised to give his all whenever he wears the Coventry shirt, stressing his commitment to fighting for every point throughout the season.
Onyeka's permanent contract with Coventry City officially takes effect on July 1, with the midfielder expected to play a key role in the club's preparations for the 2026/27 Premier League campaign.
