Done Deal: Nigerian-Born Winger Emmanuel Owen Joins FC Utrecht

Nigerian-born winger Emmanuel Chigozie Owen has completed a permanent move to Dutch Eredivisie side FC Utrecht, ending his time with Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.

The promising youngster has signed a four-year contract with Utrecht after deciding the club offered the best environment for his long-term development despite attracting interest from several other teams.

Owen expressed his excitement after completing the transfer, revealing that he felt welcomed from his first visit to the club.

He believes the move provides the ideal opportunity to continue his growth while gaining valuable experience in Dutch football.

Describing his class of play, the winger said he enjoys taking on defenders, creating scoring opportunities and contributing with both goals and assists. He also highlighted his physical strength on the ball as one of his key attributes.

The young attacker admitted that his immediate priority is settling into his new surroundings and adapting to life in the Netherlands.

Rather than focusing solely on first-team football, Owen said he is ready to feature wherever the club believes he can develop best, whether with Jong FC Utrecht or the senior squad.

FC Utrecht will hope the arrival of the talented winger strengthens their attacking options as they prepare for the new campaign.
