Nasarawa United Begin 21-Day Break After NPFL Campaign

Nasarawa United have granted their players, coaching staff, and other team officials a three-week break following the end of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League campaign.

The club confirmed that the holiday period commenced on June 23 and will continue until July 13, allowing members of the team to rest and recover before preparations begin for the new season.

The Lafia-based side enjoyed a respectable campaign, finishing sixth in the NPFL standings. Although they remained competitive throughout the season, the club fell short of achieving some of its major objectives.

Nasarawa United also made an impressive run in the President Federation Cup, reaching the semi-finals before their journey came to an end against Ikorodu City.

After a closely contested encounter that ended 1-1 in normal time, the Solid Miners were eliminated following a penalty shootout defeat.

Club officials acknowledged that the season did not fully meet expectations despite the team's strong performances in both league and cup competitions.

As a result, an evaluation of the campaign is currently underway as management seeks ways to strengthen the squad and improve results.

Attention has already shifted toward the 2026/27 season, with the club setting ambitious targets. Nasarawa United are determined to challenge for the NPFL title and secure qualification for continental football.

The break is expected to give players the opportunity to recharge ahead of what promises to be a demanding preseason, as the club aims to build a stronger squad capable of competing at the highest level in Nigerian football.
